My Phuket Trip.... Finally

Finally after a very very extremely long wait I get to make a posting on my Phuket Trip.... No thanks to Joseph my colleague who has been keeping the pictures all to himself for the past month... Yeap... a MONTH!!! My trip was on 5-7 May 2007 and it is now the 31st.. that is how long he has kept all the photos... Why? To compile all our embarassing photos, print it out and get ppl to vote which is the "best" of the lot... the pictures were hilarious... if you wanna know the selected pictures thene you need to come to my office.. it is still on the wall... :)

Okay, let me share one of my supposedly embarassing photos.. I tot it wasnt too bad... haha!! What do you think? Looks more like a real great sleeping pose right? haha!! i love self praise... :D

Well anyway, it was our first Isuzu Company trip... yipppeee!! hopefully many more to come and further away ones are most welcomed... :D That is where I did the bungee jump... we also went to phi phi island.... got sun burnt on the way there... the amount of hours on the boat was way way longer than the amount spent on the island itself.. Sad huh?

But first, before we actually went on the trip, we were divided into 4 teams... let me see... there was flower, cartoons, F&B and celebrities.... I was in F&B... Guess what my nickname?
hehe!! Yup!! Lollipop!! just though it was so cute... :) and guess who my roomie wan? Pamela Anderson!! hahhahaha!!

Check out my fav photo of the trip... dunno why I like it but I do.. suppose it shows me really chilling out and having a great time... that is of course before I got burnt... :(

Whose lap is that you ask? hmm... that is for me to know and for you to guess huh? haha!! :) So off we went to phi phi island and we had a telematch.... we had some "Lari Dalam Guni" event... I have nvr done that before and what was worse, it was on sand... haha!! so farnie to see all the managers and directors playing as well.... but unfortunately no pix... everyone busy playing no one took photos.... but then we had "Tug-of-War" which we did take some photos of... it was hilarious... haha!!! some had their legs stuck in the sand from the knee downwards and was still trying to pull.. wonder where he would move with his leg stuck... ;)

Look at my team in action... You see me? Looks like I am pulling real hard but what I was actually doing was trying to get a grip of the rope itself... who know which smartie pants who bought the rope decided to buy a waxed one instead of the rough ones so with the gloves and all the rope just kept slipping off... Well at least we came in 2nd... :)

We also managed to visit a temple, go to a shooting range... which I shot a pistol.. dun ask me what kind.. cant remember.. but I do remember I was a damn lousy shot.. Paiseh only.. haha!! all also was out of the circles.. At least it was still on the paper itself.. haha!!! But then tak ada mutu also must have gaya right?

GAYA, MUTU,KEUNGGULAN!!

haha!! yeah right.. actually not too flattering shot of me but it was the only one I took... looks likes a dwarf... Short and tubby... hehe!!

Oh, and not forgetting our last night, we checked out the local clubbing scene... fuiyoo.. all those bartop dancing girls... some we HOT!! but some were ewww... urrgh.... how could they even..... there was one particular bar which had girls dressed as Japanese school girls prancing on the bartop.. now that was HOT.... haha!! and we all ended up in this club call Banana... what a name... but the music was good... a certain Mat Salleh was real good looking...haha!! unfortunately the girl he was dancing with was not so great looking...

All in all it was quite a short trip... but we managed to squeeze in a whole lot of fun... :) but that is the Isuzu way of life... Work Hard and Play even Harder... :)

BUNGEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Check it out!!! I bungy jumped!!!! Yeap!! Me!!! haha!!! it was super trilling... Went to Phuket for a short company trip a couple of weeks ago... when they mentioned there was bungy available... I was like.. oh yeah!! I wanna go... rounded a few colleagues who were up for it and we were all so gung ho to go... see see when we got there... the itinerary was to go bungy on the first day but then the tour guide said there wasnt enough time.. so we disappointingly thought gone were our chances....
Then on our second day after a trip to Phi Phi island they tell us we had time to go for the bungy jump... at that point all of us were already unprepared but the whole bus went to location anyway...
When we got there... everyone was looking up... where is it? usually you would imagine a platform built high up in the sky right? but then this is what we saw:

Eeeeeppsss!! What is that? It was just a crane anchored on the ground protuding outwards onto the lake... fuiyoo!! safe or not one? Then Zaqi goes to the counter and immediately ask how much? then sign-up the form and paid... I follow suit... Better to get it done then you cant think twice since you already paid.. After that we had to wait for one guy to jump then it was our turn... the guy hesitated when he was right at the top then he jumped!!! Screamed his lungs out and we think oh God.. what did we get ourselves into? Only me Zaqi signed-up.. the other 2 person who were interested were having second thoughts and wanted to see ppl jump first.... so they waited..

Then came Zaqi's turn.. he jumped and he survived....

Then it came to my turn.... they bounded each leg with some spongy thingy with velcro... hmm...tight enough or not? Is my feet to small? would it slip out? breath aichin... breath..... then they hooked me up to the rope which was attached to they little hut-liked platform lift.... then up we went!!!

It went up... up... and up... and I was thinking.... why is it not stopping yet? very high already leh... stop la... then it continued.. up... and up... and up... finally it jerked and stopped... then the guide told me to hop to the edge of the platform... Holy Cow!!! it is bloody high!!!! then he says a bit more to the edge.. I complied... then he said a bit more over the edge.. and I followed... Then he said... When I say bungy you just jump and dun think.... I looked at him incredulously... okay I said... then he said BUNGY!!! In my mind it went!! " Oh Shit oh Shit!! what did i get myself into... aiyo..jump jump la... die die la!!!" spreaded my arms and leapt off the platform.. sut my eyes for a while and opened them to see myself falling without any restraint!!!

ohhhh!!! NOOOOO!!! haha!! I didnt shout that okay... then within a split of a second you feel the rope tug hard at your legs and you bounce upwards again... and down back again.. then up again.. then down again.. then up again and then down again.. bout at least 6-7 time before the rope settles and you just hang upside down.. Only God knows why..they decided to leave me hanging for quite a bit longer than the others.... i was just staring here and there.. then finally shouted to them.. Hey!! no one wanna get me out of this? then they came to the rescue... Got my cert and a roll of film of apparently 24 shots of my jump....(unfortunately either the camera or the man was lousy... all shots were blurred.... I think it is the latter... hence why there is no pics of me.. I will try and upload the mini shots of the entire jump once i scanned it but be warned.. it will be small)...

After that my other 2 colleagued signed up too and they jumped... All in all it was a trilling experience... I really got my adrenaline pumping... Would I do it again? Hell yes!! This jump was 165ft above ground.. who knows I might get myself to New Zealand and jump and even higher height... but that is for another story.... :)

NCCC

NCCC?

Must be wondering what does that means right? Well it stands for National Consumer Complaint Centre and the shocking news is that they really do get the complaints through and take action. Not that I am skeptical about our Malaysian organizations bout just that I thought they would not bother about such a small matter... But I lodged my complaint anyhow... and surprise surprise... they did take action.. They sent a showcause letter to the company which i complaint about and forwarded me a letter informing that the matter has been acted on... The company has 7 days to reply....

What did I complain about? Well one fine morning when I was driving up to Pekan (again...) I stopped by this Petronas station on the Karak Highway and bought some tidbits to keep me awake... Amongst them was this bottle of mixed nuts by the brand Mr Best ( Do not ever buy this brand)... So I continued my journey and started munching on the snacks... not very fresh but okay okay la... then after a few bites I picked up something hard.. What was it?

Look at that!! there was a screw amongst the nuts and what nots.... imagine if I wasnt looking at it when I popped it into my mouth thinking it was a weirdly shaped tidbit... I might have gotten tetanus if I swallowed it or something.... Geez... these ppl are so irresponsible.. even worse when they are in the FMCG industry... how careless can you get?

So I lodge a complaint and within 3 weeks they responded.... immediately I got a call from the manufacturer asking about this matter... Then they ask? "Why didnt you call us and settle this matter between us? Why did you just reported us to the authorities?" My response was simple:

If I called you what would you have done? > Say sorry right?

And after that what would you do? > Nothing right?

I rest my case.....

I sincerely asked the lady, imagine if it was your kid who was eating it, he would probably pop it into his mouth and swallowed it right? and she admitted yes and that it would have been a terrible thing. So as a concerned consumer it is also my responsibility to bring this matter forth to the relevant authorities. At least they will actually investigate this matter and prevent it from happening again... But it seems that everyone from that company thinks I want something out of it... I truly dont.. what is the RM3.90? and you think they will compensate you with more money? I highly doubt it...

Today, one of their marketing managers came by my office to pick up the bottle of mixed nuts and obviously he apologised profusely... He seems quite sincere so hopefully something will be done. He asked me whether or not I wanted it replaced? I was like... NOO!!! How can I ever trust the brand again.... You must think I am nuts!!! Plus, it was stale when I opened it.. ewww.... Then he offered to pay me back.. The measly Rm3.90... I just told him it is okay, what I want is just that you actually investigate this matter...

So we shook hands and he said he will give me and the authorities a thorough report.... End of story.

Last pix.. let me show you the bottle.. ADVISE TO ALL : AVOID THIS BRAND!!
