Management Information System - BCO6503

My first module out of the 12 modules I need to complete to get my MBA....
Started the class last Friday and it lasted through to today.... 15 solid hours of lectures.... I am so drained... haiz.... On top of all the lectures, we needed to complete 3 assignments in 3 weeks.... Yikes!!
First assignment... Microsoft Excel... well not too bad.. already quite proficient with it but was thought how to use macro... cool!!!
Second assignment... Microsoft Access.... Microsoft What? haha!! I have never in my whole entire life even ever touch Microsoft Access much less setting up a data base with forms and reports....
Third assignment.... Written paper of up to 1800words with presentation on a certain industry and it's relevance to MIS.... haiz... I thought I was over all these thesis writing... apparently not... Worst still, not much guidelines as to how the format goes... Hmm.... should I just follow what I did for my thesis?
Anyway... it is 1609 now... just came back from my class which finished at 1500.... still contemplating whether I should attempt the access or go get some shut eye.... hmmm.... which should I pick... hahah!! Decisions decision....

Point, Aim & Shoot!!

Early Sunday morning (and I mean early!!!) I headed out (okay, I got driven there) to Port Dickson's military shooting range, Lapangsasar (dun know which location) to have a go of shooting M16. It was an open to public event and the crowd was way more than we expected... there was more than a hundred ppl there... Well, being that there isnt much opportunity to shoot an M16, it should have been expected...

"Satu Peluru, Satu Musuh" Fuh!! sounds so macho....haha!!

The range.... our target was 200m away...

The weapon.... M16...

The ammunition... 5.56mm

Anyway.... we had to be splitted into groups of 4 and since we had 5, I volunteered to join another team which was lacking a player.... And we sat and waited our turn under the scorching and unforgiving sun... (forgetful me left my cap at home... ) I was almost charred before it was my turn...

Then we propped ourselves on the ground... was told to look through this tiny hole, fine a tiny needle which we needed to aim towards the tiny target... Without aiming I could barely see the target and after squinting through the tiny hole, it was lost... I could see my teammate's tiny target coz the X mark was still on but apparently mine was so well shot that the X has already disappeared.. so I aimed towards the vicinity of my so called target and shot...

First shot : Missed... too high and too left
Second shot : Missed... still too high and too left
Third shot : Missed... a bit too high but centered
Fourth shot : Missed... just above the target
Fifth shot : Missed... still just above the target

And that was the end of my shooting activity... after waiting for more than 2 hours and shooting and missing 5 shots... we were done for the day.. how disappointing.. :( But the experience was still real cool... hehe!! I am just obviously not a sharp shooter...

Ada gaya, tak ada mutu... tapi takpe, janji gaya mesti ada... haha!!!

Throughout the whole day, Ming kept on telling us how sharp a shooter he was... cheh!! :P siap with the story of them requiring to run from 300m, propped themselves down, aim and shoot the target all within 40sec... and what was worse, when I got home, my dad told me the same story... only thing he added was that he could do it in 18sec... Jeez... all these army ppl gloating... and they gloat about the same thing... isk isk isk... 30 years ago it was this story, now 30 years later still same story... haiz.... hahahaah!!
But anyway... thanks Ming was bringing us there... :)

The pressure is ON!!!!

I received an email yesterday from Sunway College informing me of my schedule for my first module of the MBA course I have signed up for... Here it is.... tadaa....!!!!

Management Information System
( MIS – BCO 6503 ) module are as follows:

Friday 11 July 2008 = 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm
Sat 12 July = 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm
Sun 13 July = 9.00 am to 3.00 pm
Sat 19 July = 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm
Sat 26 July = 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm
Sat 2 August = 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm
Sat 9 August = 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
Sat 16 August = Exams
Time : 2.00 pm to 5.15 pm

Upon receiving this, it truly dawned on me that I have just committed myself to this for the next 18 months. Just several weeks ago I issued my largest amount cheque... a full 5 figure cheque as the first payment... Yikes!!!
What makes it more daunting? Look at the short period of time between the first class and the exams... !!! It is only 6 weeks!!! Between that we will have individual & group assignments and presentation to complete as well... and this repeats 12 times!!!! I am suddenly feeling extremely pressured... What have I gotten myself into? Can I take it? Would I complete it? Conquer it? Achieve good grades? Pass with flying colours? I am worried... Very worried...

Oh well, all is done... The rest is up to my own hardwork and dedication I suppose... Wish me luck!!!
